Zimbabwe Australia Alumni Association Industry Insights Workshop and Reception
The Zimbabwe Australia Alumni Association (ZAAA) in collaboration with the Australian Embassy organised an Industry Insights workshop for Zimbabwean alumni who studied in Australia. The workshop was held on 30 September in Harare and attended by over 30 members. This was the first capacity building workshop for Zimbabwean Alumni from Australia.
The workshop focused on how alumni members, many of whom are young, business professionals, can build their entrepreneurial skills within the Zimbabwean context. The facilitators Ellinah Chipumha (co-founder of Unplugged); Costar Baleni (Finance Manager, Empretec) and George Munengwa (founder, PRO Air Zimbabwe) shared their knowledge and provided tips to the future business leaders of Zimbabwe. The workshop was interactive with participants engaging with the facilitators and sharing their own experiences.
Following the workshop, the Ambassador hosted a reception for alumni, Harare based Australians, education representatives and Government officials. It was a great networking event.
We look forward to supporting ZAAA to host capacity building workshops in future, and would encourage all Australia Alumni to get connected and participate. Contacts:
