The Australian Embassy is proud to present RACHEL PERKINS at HIFA 2017






TUESDAY 2 MAY 2017, 2:30PM – 4PM STUDIO 4:  A conversation with prominent and influential filmmaker Rachel Perkins (including by 3 short films)

For more than twenty-five years Australian film maker Rachel Perkins has been retelling the history and stories the Aboriginal people of Australia through film. In this session she will present three short films, Nulla Nulla by Dylan River, Footprints, A Songline from Australia by Cornel Ozies and Jacob by Dena Curtis. This is Rachel’s first time at HIFA a unique opportunity to meet one of Australia’s most prominent film directors.

Accompanied by the joyous sounds of country, gospel and Broome-style Broadway dancing, Bran Nue Dae is a road musical that celebrates the adventures of finding your way home. Directed by Rachel and starring an array of Australia’s most fabulous, the film will be a hit for the whole family.
